Hi Sandra and welcome. You are certainly not the only one! Are you based in or near London? We run support groups where you can meet others with voice problems, receive voice therapy, advice on working with a voice problem and much, much more besides.... If you are interested in attending our next meeting, let me know at meetings@lary.org.uk

Hi Sandra

Saw your comments on the chat room. This social network is relatively new (trying to make more functional than our old Forum at the lary.org.uk website).  I am speaking to different voice clinics to let people know about The Lary Project, our services and this social network so I hope use will go up over time!

I can't remember if I discussed you coming to one of our support groups in London?  Would you want/be able to come?  That way you definitely get to meet others with voice problems.

Please keep on posting - the more you post, the more others will.  The difficulty is often that a few people post then stop because they think it's not being read/responded, then a few others start posting and then stop because they think it's not being read/responded, so turns into a bit of a vicious cycle.  if we can get everyone posting more and more people online then we can really start to build a proper community.

Thanks for your perseverence!  V valued!

Terry

Hi Sandra.

The meeting is provisionally scheduled for 29 Jan but have to confirm with venue/other attendees. Oh yes, I remember now that you are Nottingham based.  Pity you are not closer (how London is the centre of the universe does that sound?!)... but great you are in Nottingham if you are having a larynx operation - one of the best places to be as we discussed I believe.

You are v welcome to come and there are no parking charges in the area on a Saturday if you drive and coaches from the North stop nearby.

Some people come from Leeds and Scarborough if that is any encouragement!

Best, Terry

Hi Sandra, Hope your operation goes well and that you have an uneventful and full recovery. Will be thinking about you. Can I ask who you see at Queens? Take care. Best wishes Irene x
